Greetings from the offices of smart.fm in Tokyo, Japan! Although it’s very meta to be saying this, you are currently reading the second sentence of the first post of our new blog, devlunch.
devlunch is two things: First, it’s a place for smart.fm staff to write about things that they’re passionate about—matters of programming, tech, linguistics, the semantic web, design, and the singularity. It’s also a place for food pr0n.
For instance:
As is true of pretty much all Japanese people, 80% of what we talk about is food-related. Breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, afternoon tea, luncheon, dinner, and supper. Even when we’re eating, especially when we’re eating, all we seem to talk about is food.
In order to keep up appearances that we are, indeed, a tech company, we will try to keep the computer to food post ratio at an even 50/50. Feel free to call us on it if we start to drift, though.
To wrap things up, consider this a “hello” of sorts. We’re really excited to be able to reach out to developers who share our interests and smart.fm users alike. Also, our fellow food enthusiasts. We hope you stick around to see us devlunch hit its stride, and grow into a cook book a lolcat blog something really cool.
dont forget brunch and linner!
I’m hungry.
